OUR THREE PILLARS

1

EDUCATION

Our foundation is rooted in education. Through mentorship, internships, and training, we’re removing barriers and bringing a new level of mental health awareness to our communities and partners. Our PM Legacy Scholarship Program has awarded over $100,000 to more than 70 deserving students pursuing careers in the field of Human Services, empowering the next generation of mental health and other healthcare providers.

2

INVESTMENT

We believe mental wellness and abundant life is facilitated through holistic care. Lack of safety and food insecurities, among others, are issues that threaten the mental health in vulnerable populations and communities. Every year, through our A Million Steps to Mental Health Awareness Walk and other fundraising initiatives, we invest in organizations providing mental health and wraparound services addressing food and housing insecurities, youth development, life skills, Veteran’s mental health, women’s safety and security, family services and support for re-entry citizens. We invest in organizations commi ed to reaching the underserved, that provide these necessary services for a thriving, abundant community. We also invest in clinical and demographic research initiatives, conducting needs assessments and analyzing the findings to be er serve and inform.

3

SUPPORT

Preventive Measures has successfully integrated the role of Community Support Workers, as defined by the DC Department of Behavioral Health, into our mental health treatment model. These individuals work in collaboration with the client’s treatment plan to provide emotional and social support, connect the client to helpful resources and life skills, and positively impact the success of their mental health journey. Through the PM Foundation, we are expanding this initiative to subsidize these direct mental health services, in Pennsylvania and other regions, including therapy, psychiatric care, community support, and other rehabilitative programs.

Dominic Taylor

with Jazzy Blu

A Blend of Traditional & Jazzy Neo-Soul

Jazzy Blu is a band based out of Washington D.C. with a jazzy neo-soulful sound enriched by the traditional jazz tones of years past.

The band was started in 2005 by drummer, Dominic "Nikk" Taylor. Jazzy Blu consists of bassist Larry Richardson, jazz guitarist Leslie Lee, saxophonist Brent Birkhead, keyboardist Clay Morrow, vocalist Keith Brown, vocalist Danielle Hatchell, vocalist Bridgette Haggins and percussionist Mike Artis to complete Jazzy Blu.

Each of the musicians bring an extremely diverse background, from Jazz, Funk, Rock, Gospel, and Blues to R&B and beyond. It is that diversity that gives Jazzy Blu its slightly different flavor, one you can't quite put your finger on.

Jazzy Blu has shared the stage with such national artists as Mary J. Blige, The Stylistics, The Whispers, The Legendary Ojays, Baby Face, Kem, Chrisette Michelle, Chaka Khan and more! Jazzy Blu has a repertoire that is extremely diverse, playing traditional jazz as well as neo-soul.
